Chris Clark has turned, during the last years, into one of the main pillars of the almigthy Warp, and therefore, into one of the most important and creative figures of the actual electronic.His eclectic sound, where darkness and abstraction dominate over digital and analog sound mixtures, over disturbing ambiental landscape shaken by metallic percussion and rhythms of extreme complexity, has become a genre whose unique label fits his own name.
Born in Bristol, and with residence in Birmingham, Clark made his debut in 2001 in Warp Records with “Clearence Park”, an intelligent abstract technno record, in which his complicated rhythmic standard started to define his characteristic style. However, it would be in 2003 when , with his magnificent and acclaimed ” Empty the bones of you” would capture the attention of half the world´s eyes with his electrocutated creaks and obscure melodies.Clark, a polyrhythmic steamroller, was consolidating, and a good part of the specialize critic started to point him out as the new Aphex Twin. “Body Riddle” came in 2006, it was his third lp and the confirmation of him being the most cerebral electronic music messiah, and he demostrates this with overwhelming live concerts in which he throws idm lashes like a real genious. “Turning Dragon” is his last very expected work, his personal vision of what electronic music for dance floor should be.
