Frank Bretschneider is one of the artists with some of the most influential works in the conceptual electronic in the last 10 years (Rand, Aerial Riverseries, Looping I-IV or others under his alias Komet are simply fundamental) and is at the same time, the man that already in the 1996 created with other genies such as Alva Noto and Olaf Bender the artistic platform Raster-Noton (following the fusion of Rastemusic and Noton archive für ton und nichtton), possibly the most avant-garde record label in contemporary electronic music.
Frank Bretschneider is a musician, composer and videoartist fascinated by rhythmic structures, complex textures, microrhythms and minimalism. In the work of Bretschneider no sound is random, the precision in programming, construction and composition demonstrates we are facing one of the most important researcher of the world electronic scene in the sound field, space and image, a living legend whose discs continue to make progress today, defining the road to follow in the coming years. “Rhythm” is his last work in which he offers a completely innovating point of view in the field of techno, modern music and rhythm.
