The Black Dog

The Black Dog is one of the Great Britain´s most interesting projects of the end of the 80´s. It is one of the key projects without which, IDM label would make no sense now, pioneers and commensurate with names such as Autechre, Plaid or Boards of Canada. The Black Dog is one of the names that revolutionized the European electronic scene during the first years of the 90´s. “Virtual” came to light in 1989, and has a key role in the electronic music history; it is the first audible sign that would come to be called Intelligent Techno some years later; it is hard work to find nowadays a so influential band in the new electronic sounds of the end of the century like The Black Dog.
Formed at first by Ken Downie, Ed Hanley and Andy Turner, the fantastic trio left a handful of legacy of an incalculable price ( such as “Dogism”, “Bytes” or “Techno playtime” ) , till the year 95, after publish this masterpiece called “Spanners”, when Ed and Andy decided to follow their way by separate and found Plaid. Now, after a long silence and the inclusion of the brothers Martin and Richard Dust in the project, they act again in a live with a recently published work that put them again in the first lines of vanguard electronic.
