From 2005 to 2008 Skull Disco was one of the most interesting record labels on the international electronic scene. Shackleton was his founder along with the english artist Appleblim, and he published some of the most striking projects of the entire dubstep movement during these three years, completed with the essential “Soundboy’s suicide note” (Skull Disco, 2008). With an environmental and tenebrous sound, full of funereal atmospheres and tribal percussions, Shackleton positioned as a main reference on the scene together with Burial, Benga o Kode9.

After the closing of Skull Disco, moving to Berlin and working with artists like Ricardo Villalobos (remixing each other and building bridges between them) or Mordant Music, Shackleton´s dubstep evolved, perfectly feeded by techno rhythms and even more powerful basses. This evolution has his first stop in “Three ep’s” (Perlon, 2009), where Shackleton developes his personal universe full of thick atmospheres, percussive rhythms and intense basses to the maximun, breaking stylistic barriers and defining perfectly an unique sound.
