Glasgow-based electronic musician Lanark Artefax came to prominence following the release of his Glasz EP on Lee Gamble’s UIQ label in 2016. Having been championed by heavyweights like Björk and Aphex Twin, he returned in 2017 with an EP for Nic Tasker’s Whities label to massive critical acclaim, marking him out as one of the most exciting young artists in the UK right now.
Lanark Artefax’ abstract techno and futuristic audiovisual live set will invade the Teatro de la Laboral. A unique opportunity to enjoy a live performance by one of the biggest revelations in contemporary IDM, very well received by critics and the public since his debut with Glasz on Lee Gamble’s UIQ label.
With his work, Lanark Artefax updates the parameters of classic, 90’s IDM, to bring them closer to contemporary club culture. He will still bring us to a euphoric, epic climax, but now his productions achieve the perfect balance between Autechre’s or Aphex Twin’s fractured sounds and the dizzy textures of bass music and grime.
At L.E.V. we will enjoy his live audiovisual set with Shaun Murphy, which will set him in a place of honor in the Olympus of experimental electronic music.
