Teatro de la Laboral

Inaugurated in October 2007 after more than two years of intense remodelling, that has provided it with unbeatable acoustics and an excellent capacity to host all kinds of performances, Teatro de la Laboral is nowadays the leading theatre in Asturias and one of the best in the north of Spain. In this venue, we will enjoy some of the most impressive audiovisual and sound projects of today. Friday, May 1 featuring: Alva Noto, Ryoichi Kurokawa, Meuko Mueko! & Hsiangfu Chen, Abul Mogard, Corin. And on Saturday, May 2, with: Myriam Bleau + Pierce Warnecke, Tacit Group and NonTech.

LABoral Centro de Arte. Nave
Information
An old industrial warehouse of the Laboral University, recovered in 2007 to become part of LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial, will be the location for the night programme on Saturday, May 2, starting at midnight. Featuring: µ-Xiq & ID:Mora, Catnapp, Nova Materia and NikNak.
Muséu del Pueblu d’Asturies

The aim of the Muséu del Pueblu d’Asturies is to preserve the historical memory of Asturian people. It was founded in 1968 and occupies an area of 35,000 m, in which there are several buildings and a brackish water pond. The museum works on research, conservation and dissemination of the ethnography and history of Asturias. On Saturday, May 2, the Tendayu will host performances by Jin, Komatssu vs. Tensal, NAH and musgo2.

Jardín Botánico Atlántico

Information
A botanical garden specialized in the flora and vegetation of the Atlantic territories. 16 hectares and more than 30,000 plants and 2,000 different species make this space a spectacular museum of plant exhibition and dissemination. The best possible setting to enjoy the live performances of artists Sara Muñiz and Julek Ploski on Sunday, May 3, in a wireless headphone session that will b provided at the entrance and that will close this edition of the festival’s program.
Teatro Jovellanos (Caja escénica)

The Jovellanos Theater, located in the center of the city, is a cultural reference in Gijón and Asturias. This year, the festival has programmed in its stage box the sound installation πTon by the Czech collective Cod.Act, which can be seen from April 30 to May 3 in different passes and with free admission.

Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto

Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto is a key location for the creation, production and dissemination of art and culture in the city. This time, it will host an audiovisual installation by Eric Vernhes from April 30 to May 24, with free admission.

Colegiata del Palacio Revillagigedo

La Colegiata del Palacio Revillagigedo is part of the Revillagigedo Palace, an emblematic building of the city focused on the exhibition of contemporary art as well as courses and cycles of music, dance and theatre. From April 30 to May 3 it will host the installation Deviation by German artist Sven Sauer. Free admission.

Espacio Cultural San Esteban del Mar

Built in 1648, the Chapel of San Esteban del Mar is located in the Natahoyo district, one of the city’s most important industrial areas. After decades of neglect, it has recently been restored and converted into a cultural space, open to the city and integrated into Gijón’s urban fabric. For this new space, French artist Anne Hotel has created a video installation which will be on display from April 30 to May 3, with free admission.

Iglesia de la Laboral

A singular architectural landmark housing the largest elliptical dome in Europe, the church of La Laboral reopens its doors after six years of restoration work. On Saturday 2 and Sunday 3, May it will host Enrique del Casillo’s sound performance in two sessions. Free admission
