DIONISIO GONZÁLEZ TO LEAD A SPECIAL GUIDED TOUR OF LA REVUELTA Y LA NIEVE AT POZU SANTA BÁRBARA

As part of Pozu Santa Bárbara’s free summer guided tour programme, Asturian artist Dionisio González will lead a special tour exploring the research and creative process behind the exhibition, inviting visitors into an open dialogue around the work.

Following the enthusiastic response to La revuelta y la nieve, Pozu Santa Bárbara will host a special guided tour of the exhibition led by its creator, Dionisio González, on 22 July.

Conceived and produced specifically for Pozu Santa Bárbara, La revuelta y la nieve explores the Asturian underground as a place where mining heritage, architecture and the digital future intersect. Through documentary film, photography, architectural models, holograms and a multi-screen installation, the exhibition invites visitors to look beneath the surface and reconsider how industrial landscapes continue to shape new ways of thinking about the present and the future.

During the tour, Dionisio González will share the research and creative process behind La revuelta y la nieve, offering insight into the historical, architectural and conceptual references that shape the exhibition. Conceived as an opportunity for conversation, the tour invites visitors to engage directly with the artist and experience the exhibition through his perspective.

With an international career spanning more than three decades, Dionisio González is one of Spain’s leading contemporary artists. His work explores the relationship between architecture, territory and the ways we inhabit the 21st century, and has been exhibited at internationally renowned institutions including the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid), the Cleveland Museum of Contemporary Art, the CAPC Musée d’Art Contemporain de Bordeaux, the Museum of Contemporary Photography (Chicago), and the Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá.

The artist-led tour is part of Pozu Santa Bárbara’s summer programme of free guided visits, which also includes further tours in July and August, offering visitors the chance to explore both the exhibition and the site’s unique industrial heritage.

Within the framework of the exhibition, the center offers several free guided tours for the month of May that will allow the public to immerse themselves in the piece and discover its creation process, as well as learn about the history of the space that houses it and its surroundings and heritage.
