Festival is the Botanical Garden. It is clearly the ideal space to enjoy the sonic and conceptual chasms of Spanish sound artist, cellist and singer\u00a0Yamila<\/strong>, and the truly personal creations of\u00a0Oliver Coates<\/strong>, at the crossroads of IDM, neoclassical and experimental electro-acoustic music.<\/p>\n

*Activity for which a specific ticket is needed.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_single_image image=”32715″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Yamila<\/strong>\u00a0has just released her debut album\u00a0Iras Fajro\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(Forbidden Colours<\/strong>), where she conjures powerful electronic sounds opposed to her fragile vocals, which sometimes adopt the form of small choral clusters. Brilliant electronic arpeggios and rhythms dissolve in silky cello sounds, intertwining with the creativity of two such famous collaborators as\u00a0Clark<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Ni\u00f1o de Elche.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_video link=”https:\/\/vimeo.com\/317217647″ align=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Oliver Coates<\/strong>, a renowned chamber musician and a frequent collaborator of\u00a0Steve Reich<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Radiohead<\/strong>, released\u00a0Shelley\u00b4s on Zenn-La<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0in 2018 on\u00a0RVNG Intl<\/strong>\u00a0label. It was one of the most sublime music from the past year, and from his whole career. A somehow experimental work, closer to electronica, reminiscent of the best moments of the very multifaceted Aphex Twin. A complex, beautiful record, full of precious moments, which will be showcased at L.E.V. in a very evocative environment: the Botanical Garden.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_video link=”https:\/\/youtu.be\/IfL5Fy2mW6g” align=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][edgtf_section_title position=”left” disable_separator=”no” title_tag=”h4″ disable_title_break_words=”no” title=”J\u00c4GERMUSIC SHOWCASE”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Forthe 4 year around, this collaboration between\u00a0J\u00e4germeister<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0L.E.V. Festival\u00a0<\/strong>brings us a\u00a0J\u00e4germusic showcase\u00a0<\/strong>dedicated to support new Spanish musical talents. This year\u2019s line up is formed by\u00a0AWWZ<\/strong>, representing J\u00e4germeister\u2019s musical programme, and\u00a0Jay Ferrara<\/strong>, chosen by the Festival.<\/p>\n

At the showcase that will take place on\u00a0Saturday, May 4, AWWZ<\/strong>\u00a0will introduce us to her very personal musical universe, influenced by Future Beats, Pop and contemporary R&B. Meandering rhythms, silky vocals and ethereal textures.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_video link=”https:\/\/vimeo.com\/167272266″ el_aspect=”43″ align=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Jay Ferrara<\/strong>, the moniker chosen by Javier Otero, an Asturian musician and producer based in London, plays solo for the first time after a long career that started in the late 90\u2019s-early 00\u2019s in indie, post-rock and post-punk bands,\u00a0and took him to\u00a0Futuregold\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0gloomy RnB and\u00a0Black Volume\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0funk-infused abstract sounds, being these two his most recent collaborative efforts.<\/p>\n

Jay dropped his first eponymous EP in December 2018 through\u00a0Mirror Maze Music.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][edgtf_section_title position=”left” disable_separator=”no” title_tag=”h4″ disable_title_break_words=”no” title=”WORKSHOP \/ PRODUCTION SYSTEMS AND LINKS BETWEEN MUSIC AND ARCHITECTURE”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Gij\u00f3n\u2019s Town Council Youth Desk\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0L.E.V. Festival<\/strong>\u00a0have organized a workshop directed by Asturian musician\u00a0Skygaze<\/strong>\u00a0about the different methodologies in musical production, and the relationships between music and architecture.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_single_image image=”32717″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]The workshop, aimed at young people, will take place at the La Laboral Old Kitchen on Saturday May 4 at 6 PM.<\/p>\n

The workshop will be divided in two parts. In the first one, Jaime Tellado will talk about the links he has discovered through his career which connect his two professional disciplines: music and architecture.<\/p>\n

The second part, more didactic, will be focused on the different methodologies used to produce a song, stressing the \u201csampling\u201d technique as a key element of the whole process.<\/p>\n
