LATEST ADDITIONS”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]After announcing a schedule full of activities,\u00a0L.E.V.<\/strong>\u00a0closes its bill with the addition of\u00a0LOST IN TIME<\/strong><\/em>, a film by Canadian director\u00a0Patrick Bernatchez<\/strong>\u00a0with a\u00a0Murcof<\/strong>\u00a0soundtrack based on a highly processed take on Bach\u2019s Goldberg Variations, the premiere of\u00a0Balago\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0highly awaited new work, a\u00a0J\u00e4germusic showcase<\/strong>\u00a0focused on supporting Spanish music creations featuring\u00a0The Suicide of Western Culture\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Cicada<\/strong>, and the collaborations of visual artists\u00a0Gnomala<\/strong>b and\u00a0Jimmy Lakatos<\/strong>\u00a0with Lusine and Claro Intelecto, respectively.<\/p>\n

L.E.V.<\/strong>, a project co-produced by the\u00a0Government of the Principality of Asturias<\/strong>,\u00a0Gij\u00f3n\u2019s Town Council<\/strong>,\u00a0LABoral Centro de Arte<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Datatr\u00f3n Collective<\/strong>, keeps on searching the evolution of new audiovisual languages. From April 26 to 29, the Festival will feature a lineup full of daring and innovative international acts that aim to go beyond classic formats within the fields of sound and vision creations.<\/p>\n

www.levfestival.com<\/a>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][edgtf_section_title position=”left” disable_separator=”no” title_tag=”h4″ disable_title_break_words=”no” title=”L.E.V. presents, in collaboration with Gij\u00f3n\/Xix\u00f3n International Film Festival, Lost in Time by Patrick Bernatchez”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_video link=”https:\/\/vimeo.com\/92547245″ align=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]In\u00a0Lost in Time<\/strong><\/em>, two parallel narratives intertwine: the first follows a helmet- clad, faceless horse and rider adrift in an indeterminate landscape of ice and snow, quite literally lost in time and space, while the second seems to allude to a strange scientific experiment.<\/p>\n

Lost in Time<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0plunges us into perpetual renewal, each ending leading to a new beginning. The protagonists \u2013 two beings bound by a certain mutual dependence \u2013 are forever trapped in a time loop where life and death ceaselessly rotate.<\/p>\n

The use of colour film stock to capture what are almost exclusively black figures against white landscapes produces a menacing, otherworldly atmosphere that is also stunningly beautiful.<\/p>\n

The original soundtrack of the film, produced in collaboration with Mexican musician\u00a0Murcof<\/strong>, blends the aria of the\u00a0Goldberg Variations<\/strong>\u00a0sung by\u00a0Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal<\/strong>\u00a0with a composition by Murcof.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][edgtf_section_title position=”left” disable_separator=”no” title_tag=”h4″ disable_title_break_words=”no” title=”Balago”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_single_image image=”32851″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Five years after\u00a0Darder<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>and seventeen since his debut,\u00a0Balago<\/strong>\u00a0starts from scratch again. More alone and isolated from his music surroundings than ever, although this must be seen as something positive and inspiring,\u00a0David Crespo<\/strong>, with the invaluable help of his inseparable companion\u00a0Guim Serradesanferm<\/strong>, offers us in\u00a0El dem\u00e0<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0a complete rethinking of his ideas, culminating in his most imaginative, lucid and dazzling recording yet. This year\u2019s lineup is formed by\u00a0THE SUICIDE OF WESTERN CULTURE<\/strong>, representing J\u00e4germeister\u2019s musical programme, and\u00a0CICADA<\/strong>, chosen by the Festival.<\/p>\n

In the showcase that will take place on Sunday April 28,\u00a0THE SUICIDE OF WESTERN CULTURE<\/strong>, which have become one of the most important names in Spanish electronica in their own right, will play an exclusive show at L.E.V. Festival remembering their first two albums.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_video link=”https:\/\/vimeo.com\/52994071″ align=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]There is every indication that\u00a0CICADA<\/strong>\u00a0will be one of the revelations of this season: their unusual line-up combines classical instruments with synthesizers, and they have connections with some key names in the scene: their members have been played live with Pablo Und Destruktion, and their album has been mixed by \u00d3scar Mulero, some hints of what is to come.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_video link=”https:\/\/youtu.be\/Az7nfZJOEkA” align=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][edgtf_section_title position=”left” disable_separator=”no” title_tag=”h4″ disable_title_break_words=”no” title=”Gnomalab”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_video link=”https:\/\/vimeo.com\/159393731″ align=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Gnomalab<\/strong>\u00a0began his journey in the audiovisual world at the end of the nineties, a scene which has grown up and reinvented itself in a very intense way, where Juanjo has pursued a career full of projects and collaborations with many different artists.<\/p>\n

During the last years he has focused on researching and producing new formats, as video mapping, while balancing this activity with his teaching assignments. But from 2017 on, he decided to resume his work as VJ, and to start various riskier, more experimental projects, such as his works with\u00a0Loppkio<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0Pina.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For his collaboration with\u00a0Lusine<\/strong>, at the request of L.E.V. Festival,\u00a0Gnomalab<\/strong>\u00a0will develop his particular vision of\u00a0Sensorimotor<\/strong>, a brighter and more colorful performance than his usual work, but not less experimental, that marks the triumphant comeback of one of the greatest names in the audiovisual scene.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][edgtf_section_title position=”left” disable_separator=”no” title_tag=”h4″ disable_title_break_words=”no” title=”Jimmy Lakatos”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_video link=”https:\/\/vimeo.com\/45168563″ align=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Jimmy Lakatos<\/strong>\u00a0started out in Montr\u00e9al working with video in public spaces and early raves, and has developed a reputation for impressive analog light shows and minimalist video projections. He has worked professionally for\u00a0Cirque du Soleil<\/strong>\u00a0and has been a long-time video-scenographer for MUTEK.<\/p>\n
