Matadero announces a four-day line-up focusing on different concepts and themes, born out of the crossroads of contemporary artistic creation and the latest technological tools.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>With such prestigious headliners as Alva Noto, Daito Manabe, Marina Herlop, or Atom\u00a0<\/strong>\u2122<strong>, the Festival\u2019s line-up of shows and audiovisual performances will take place on September Thursday 22 and Friday 23 at Nave 16, and on Saturday 24 at Plaza Matadero, on night sessions<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The Center of Immersive Experiences MAD (Madrid Artes Digitales) will host a big audiovisual installation created by the art two-piece SYNSPECIES<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The festival will also include some of the most groundbreaking Virtual Reality artistic experiences in the VORTEX section, and will offer two new augmented reality experiences in the Ciudad Aumentada section<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Part of this year\u2019s Festival is the joint exhibition\u00a0<em>Metaverses: Realities in transition<\/em>, opening at Nave 0. Matadero will also feature the opening of the exhibition\u00a0<strong><em>Metaverses: Realities in transition<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0at Nave 0. This universe, created by\u00a0<strong>Kevin Mack<\/strong>, the pioneer of immersive art, invites the visitor to fly over and explore its surprising nature, and to interact and engage with its peculiar and friendly inhabitants.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;20px&#8221;][vc_video link=&#8221;https:\/\/youtu.be\/h_PrRXca9ig&#8221; align=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;20px&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong><em>Meet Me Halfway<\/em><\/strong>, by Italian architect, artist and engineer\u00a0<strong>Anna Pompermaier<\/strong>, is an experience of multiplayer extended reality, created to research the future of meeting spaces, located inside hybrid environments halfway between a physical and a digital world. Another example of these new meeting spaces is the animated virtual reality experience\u00a0<strong><em>Goliath: Playing With Reality<\/em><\/strong>, created by\u00a0<strong>Anagram<\/strong>, directed by\u00a0<strong>Barry Gene Murphy and May Abdalla<\/strong>, and narrated by actor\u00a0<strong>Tilda Swinton<\/strong>, who guides the visitor through the different realities of Goliath, a man who has lived most of his life isolated in mental institutions, and who connects with the outside world through multiplayer video games.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;20px&#8221;][vc_video link=&#8221;https:\/\/vimeo.com\/544976002&#8243; align=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;20px&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<section class=\"av_textblock_section \">\n<div class=\"avia_textblock \">\n<p>The project\u00a0<strong><em>Future Dance of Nostalgia<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0explores the relationship between our bodies and the hard, repetitive physical work during the pre-industrial age. A video game created by Beijing visual artist and designer\u00a0<strong>Kexin Hao<\/strong>, combining songs about work taken for historical archives and the dynamics of games such as\u00a0<em>Just Dance<\/em>. From Taipei, experimental artist and producer\u00a0<strong>Meuko! Meuko!\u00a0<\/strong>and Taiwanese collective\u00a0<strong>NAXS Corp<\/strong>\u00a0present\u00a0<strong><em>Innervision<\/em><\/strong>, a version of their series\u00a0<em>Ghost Island<\/em>\u00a0in the shape of a virtual reality installation. A virtual post-utopian landscape in 3D, located in the frontier between mythology and reality.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;20px&#8221;][vc_video link=&#8221;https:\/\/vimeo.com\/713650728&#8243; align=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;20px&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<section class=\"av_textblock_section \">\n<div class=\"avia_textblock \">\n<p>Besides, the shocking documentary in virtual reality\u00a0<strong><em>On the Morning You Wake (To the End of the World)<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0by the multi-awarded studios\u00a0<strong>Archer<\/strong>\u2019<strong>s Mark<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Atlas V<\/strong>\u00a0will immerse the viewer in a terrible event which took place in January 2018 in Hawaii, when its citizens received a text message from the Estate Emergency Service, wrongly warning them about an imminent ballistic missile attack. Matadero brings us a new experience of augmented reality at the outdoor space of La Placita. Created by the French illustrator and animation director\u00a0<strong>Guillaumit<\/strong>, the piece\u00a0<strong><em>Livelyyy<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0has the shape of a painted wall which contains a hectic inner life that we can discover on the screen of our smartphone. A multi-dimensional experience which reflects about our ability as human beings to forge their own destiny, through a series of paintings and objects which get activated in augmented reality. This project, supported by Paris\u2019 Institut Fran\u00e7ais, will also serve as an introduction of the new international networking project\u00a0<strong>Sensor\/PLAY<\/strong>, promoted by the association AUAFEIOMAU (creators of the Semibreve Festival in Braga, Portugal), L.E.V. Supported by Taiwan\u2019s Ministry of Culture and Economic and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Spain and the Austrian Cultural Forum, the exhibition is composed by a selection of five metaverses, plus a generative installation, all created by and for artists and promoted by several cultural institutions.<\/p>\n<p>This walkthrough shows the visitor a new way of understanding the metaverse, away from more commercial virtual spaces. It is an invitation to discover new territories of artistic experimentation in an immersive way, to travel through amazing aesthetic universes halfway between physicality and virtuality, to discover the endless creative possibilities of this technological media.<\/p>\n<p>The title of the exhibition refers to\u00a0<em>Realities in Transition<\/em>, a project created in collaboration with L.E.V.
