Vortex. Virtual Reality Experiences
Award-winning Taiwanese artist Hsin-Chien Huang has become a regular in the virtual reality programme of L.E.V., which has on multiple occasions shown his highly experimental, imaginative and aesthetic works. On this occasion, Hsin-Chien Huang will be accompanied by the renowned electronic musician and composer Jean Michel Jarre to present The Eye and I, a collaborative virtual reality piece in which they explore from a critical prism their fascination with the notion of social surveillance, as well as its influence and presence throughout history.
With this project they invite us to travel through the evolution of surveillance from religious supervision to today’s omnipresence and digital control. Through twelve cells located in the panopticon of a prison, visitors can explore the influence of surveillance on art, family, politics, social organisation and technology. Jean Michel Jarre’s unique musical composition enhances the immersive experience, creating a unique work that stimulates the mind and senses in equal measure.

Namuanki is an ancient aquatic oasis from the distant future created by Oscar-winning artist and pioneer of digital art, virtual reality and visual effects, Kevin Mack. A virtual get-away to an otherworldly reality that’s designed to inspire a transcendent experience of awe, mystery, and imagination.
In this ocean world with rocky isles, labyrinthine rock formations, bizarre lifeforms, and subterranean caves, visitors can explore the islands and complex rock formations above and below the water and encounter a variety of unique benevolent beings to interact with along the way.
Namuanki is set in VRChat, an ever-expanding universe driven by a passionate community creating and sharing virtual worlds, avatars and interactive experiences since 2015.

Vortex. Virtual Reality Experiences
The virtual reality experience In Pursuit of Repetitive Beats by Darren Emerson takes us on a first-person journey back in time to the epicentre of rave culture in the late 80s in the UK. From poster-strewn bedrooms to pirate radio stations, police headquarters to secret warehouses, you’ll step-into the shoes of the pioneers of this cultural movement as you go in search of the party.
The experience, consisting of an immersive exhibition and an explorable virtual world set in the key years of this social phenomenon, combines Acid House tracks with interactivity and multi-sensory simulation to make the user a direct witness to the stories of the promoters, police and rave-goers whose rivalries and relationships drove an unprecedented revolution in music and society.
A ticket back to 1989 to live the events that shaped a generation; to feel the anticipation, trepidation, excitement and euphoria of the explosion of the scene.
