MP3. MP3 LIVE #1 _ES (Premiere)
Live shows & av performances
In this edition of L.E.V Matadero 2025, the MP3 collective presents its performative concert MP3 Live, an experience in which body movement and dance are transformed into sound and time. This performance is an experimental journey that intertwines rhythm, dance, and electronic music in an immersive narrative, transforming the stage into a space where sound is captured, manipulated, and created through the physical presence of the performers.
MP3 —an acronym for Movement Played by 3— is a collective formed by artists Arnau Pérez, Pau Vegas, and Fernando Careaga, who, from their background in music and dance, investigate new forms of sound creation from movement. Their work explores the boundaries between disciplines, generating a hybrid language that combines electronic music and corporeal expression. Thus, they capture sound information from movement through sensors and custom-designed devices, making gesture, energy, and corporeality an essential part of the live composition.
The name of the collective refers to the digital format MP3, a metaphor that runs through their work, inviting us to reflect on the compression of time and the influence that digital technology exerts on our way of life today.
The proposal has been developed thanks to the support of the Centro de Residencias Artísticas of Matadero Madrid after being selected in the Convocatoria para proyectos de música electrónica experimental de Madrid (2024).
