KYRIA LIBIA. El arrobamiento
_ES
Experimental sacred music composer Kyria Libia, presents her new project at LEV Matadero: a contemporary sound liturgy that reflects on mystical ecstasy and spirituality from a psychoanalytical perspective, in a present where inner listening has become an almost impossible practice.
Through research into mystical texts and Christian religious music, El arrobamiento offers an emotionally intense musical journey. A live modular pipe organ, in harmony with synthesisers and processed lyrical voices, creates sacred atmospheres that will lead us from the darkest recesses of the human soul to collective ecstasy. An invitation to let go of the ‘self’ in order to connect with the numinous, where love and sensitivity burst forth as deeply necessary forces in a world ravaged by systemic violence.
Kyria Libia released her first pipe organ album, Visiones de lo sublime (2025), on the Belgian label Nuova Materia. Her work focuses on mysticism and the search for a new sacred language through experimentation with acoustic instruments associated with the church—such as the pipe organ, lyrical voices and bells—which enter into dialogue with ambient, psychedelic and minimalist electronic music. Through her work, she advocates reconnecting with the sacred as an act of resistance against the hyper-productive logic and the accelerating pace of our times.
