FRACTAL FANTASY / SINJIN HAWKE & ZORA JONES

06/02/2023/in Core, Planet LEV/by Humme

FRACTAL FANTASY / SINJIN HAWKE & ZORA JONES

Fractal Fantasy is a creative platform founded in 2014 by electronic music producers and DJs Sinjin Hawke and Zora Jones. A dazzling visual environment for their interactive experiments to live in (which has been touted as one of the most innovative audiovisual platforms ever created), that scapes the digital world at their live shows.

In the wake of their acclaimed visual album “First Opus”, Sinjin and Zora released a collaborative EP the record label Planet Mu and started a two year run of AV Live shows around the world. Now, Sinjin and Zora have come back in the studio to work on new material in a highly experimental process, important for the spur of new ideas and ways of creating.

Planet LEV is the optimal place to present the resulting experimental performance, which presents a rare window into the development process of their new works against the backdrop of the pandemic and the cabin fever that comes with it.

Meuko! Meuko! & Naxs corp

06/02/2023/in Core, Planet LEV/by Humme

Meuko! Meuko! & Naxs corp

Taiwanese experimental music producer and performer Meuko! Meuko! collaborates with
fellow Taipei-based multimedia performance collective NAXS Corp. to create the online VR installation and AV show Ghost Island: Innervision.

Working from the live project Ghost Island, that made the opening performance for Transmediale (DE) and toured over twenty countries and festivals including Sónar (HK), Primavera Sound(ES), and Hyperreality (AT), Meuko! Meuko! and NAXS Corp. present an online Live AV show inside of LEV-build VR world.

For the AV performance, NAXS creates a dystopian world full of abandoned statues, floating ruins, stray dogs and hieroglyphics based on 3D-scanned streets and temples, while Meuko supplies a soundtrack of experimental sonic dreamscapes.

This mythical cyber-world can also be visited through an online virtual reality experience curated by Meuko and NAXS. An immersive VR universe where, as music traverses its antiutopian ruins, you may find that this is not a fantasy or a fable, but the mythological reality in which we all live.

Meuko! Meuko!

Taipei based artist Meuko! Meuko! is an experimental music producer and Live performer. She started performing solo in 2015 and then in 2017 under the monocle Meuko! Meuko! with A/V sets created in collaboration with ‘ Naxs corp.’ Each performance combines improvisation with conceptual ideas of noise, clubbing, strange sounds, field recordings that conjure at times ritualistic performances with sources tracing back to Taiwan’s own spiritual landscape.

NAXS Corp.

NAXS Corp. is a Taiwan based, network embedded art collective founded in 2015. Focused on the accelerated transformation of human experiences, NAXS investigates the dialectic relation between posthuman mythology, animism ritual practices, creating its fictional framework for the internet society.

Boris Divider: Spheral.Dome

Boris Divider: Spheral.Dome

Spheral.dome is an audiovisual generative and reactive content project, created by Boris Divider and designed to be projected in a dome environment, where high definition visual pieces are triggered in real-time combined with sonic material to create a reactive environment, where all kind of audiovisual layers are mixed and fully improvised.

The artistic concept is fully linked to the musical composition generated by the performance itself. The visual result is sometimes close to stroboscopic art, due to the sound pattern architectures, which makes the audience feel inside of a fully implemented multimedia element.

In Spheral.dome, improvisation and avant audiovisual techniques are combined for the audience to witness how the dome adopts shapes and shows objects related with geometry, visual patterns, mathematical aesthetic and, finally, the puristic essence of video art.

Boris Divider

Boris Divider is the stage name for Boris Sáez, was born in Madrid in 1975. His works, focused on electronic and electroacoustic sequential music, are an essential pillar to understand the trajectory of this musician, producer and visual composer who, after devoting more than a decade to club electronic music and becoming a benchmark for international standing in the electro-techno scene, has been transforming and consolidating an execution and a theme that is closer to audiovisual installation and audio and video synchronism.

Boris Divider’s audiovisual performances during the last years include events such as MiRA Festival 2015, La Casa Encendida, Mugako at (Artium) Vasque Museum of Contemporary Art, Volumens 2015 at Museu Valenciá de la Il-lustració i la Modernitat, (MEH) Museum of Human Evolution, Circulo de Bellas Artes de Madrid.

dot tape dot: Like a bunch of fireflies

dot tape dot: Like a bunch of fireflies

Dot tape dot returns to LEV Festival with a new online audiovisual show from his series LIKE A BUNCH OF FIREFLIES, that will be broadcasted live from the virtual universe Planet LEV.

Conceived as a single, 45-minute-long piece, the show has been created as a compendium of Daniel Romero’s latest works about algorithmic, generative composition. Organic sounds, dreamy ambient and ethereal melodies as LEV’s proposal for an alternative Christmas Eve concert, accompanied by a swarm of sound fireflies and digital insects that disseminate all kinds of frequencies and resonances, becoming part of the sonic universe of these compositions.

Arcanoid: Ecosistema

06/02/2023/in Core, Planet LEV/by Humme

Arcanoid: Ecosistema

Arcanoid is the producer side of Luis Cantalapiedra Vazquez, well-know for his djing work under the pseudonym of Dj Muerto, which started in the late 80s.

From 1993 until almost the end of that decade, he was resident Dj and promoter for the legendary club Voltereta (Madrid, Spain), typing its first page in the history of the national techno. His sets characterized by the deep exploration of techno and drum’n’bass and their varieties such as soulful or broken beats. He took part of Dark Archives Collectivo and later on he created Altered State project together with Oscar Mulero, Pitch (aka The Zenobit3) and Focus.

His work as a producer developed around the last years of the 90s, showing this other creative side of Luis. His productions keep to the same elegance and character, following no predetermined style. In 2007, after having participated in compilations and remixes to groups such like Mojo Project, he released the first reference of the e-seal Minuendo under his new musical project Arcanoid, which arrives now to Planet LEV with the live show Ecosistema.
