Cadie Desbiens-Desmeules y Michael Gary Dean
L.E.V. Festival returns to Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto de Gijón / Xixón with the installation Frozen Music, a large format generative video by Canadian artists Cadie Desbiens-Desmeules and Michael Gary Dean.
In this piece, images and sound build up a strange synesthesia. The soundscapes follow one another between chaotic sounds and delicate melodies, while digital sculptures are generated before the eyes of the spectator, in real time, on a large screen.
Cadie Desbiens-Desmeules is a digital artist who moves between generative art and live performances. Her projects range from site-specific installations to multi-screen and immersive environments. As a journalist, she observes new technological trends with a critical eye, creating thoughts and insights about the way in which we relate and coexist with new technologies.
Michael Gary Dean is a Canadian digital artist and songwriter, also known by his pseudonym Wiklow. His work is framed in new media and is influenced by minimalism, generative art and psychology. A mixture of the avant-garde of digital art and the roots of traditional classical music.
Both of them are currently in Lisbon, working actively.
