Metaverses and music creation with PatchXR

Workshop for teenagers

As part of the celebration of a new edition of Arenas Movedizas and L.E.V. Festival, Escuela de Comercio will host a workshop aimed at teenagers in which they will discover the creative possibilities of virtual environments. Specifically, musical creation in virtual reality. To do so, we will work with PatchWorld, an unprecedented tool created by the international studio PatchXR, co-founded by Mélodie Mousset and Eduardo Fouilloux, with which we will be able to build totally immersive musical worlds for the metaverse.

During three sessions of three hours each, we will learn the foundations of this tool, together with concepts of electronic and contemporary music, and we will explore in a practical and playful way the infinite possibilities it offers, ranging from building new musical instruments to synthesising and sequencing electronic sounds, creating avatars or looping musical structures and recording them on video, using a friendly and interactive interface and Oculus Quest virtual reality headsets.
