RED TAIL. FISH WANG

Virtual Reality Experience

Taiwanese director and animation artist Fish Wang collaborates with Funique VR studio to create the virtual reality experience Red Tail, inspired by Fish’s comic of the same name and winner of the 2023 Cristal Award for best VR work at the Annecy festival.

The story begins in a train station floating on a cloud. A mysterious red fish tail catches the attention of a boy. Chasing it, he travels through magical places, meets strange creatures and finally encounters a knight who seems to know his secrets and sorrows better than he does. What is behind the red tail and where will it take him next?

This fascinating journey creates a poetic metaphor about our childhood memories, about the pain that is part of growing up, inviting us to feel and accept it as something inherent to our life experience in order to become a better version of ourselves.
