Jana Rush

Saturday, April 30
Muséu del Pueblu d’Asturies

The Muséu del Pueblu d’Asturies will host a daytime showcase from the essential English label Planet Mu.

Among the artists that will perform, we will find Chicago born and raised Jana Rush, that in the early 90s became a regular at her hometown footwork and juke events.

With influences from Robert Armani, Lester Fitzpatrick, Cajmere, DJ Milton or DJ Deeon, the American artist will fill the stage with her personal deconstructed footwork sounds, with jungle, acid, soul or jazz references, and the live presentation of her latest album Painful Enlightenment, an intense emotional rollercoaster of disfigured samples, quivering electronics and vagrant percussion.

On Saturday April 30, in collaboration with Gijón’s Town Council Youth Department, Escuela de Comercio will host a conversation with Jana Rush, in which the artist will talk about her extensive career as a dj and producer. More information HERE.
