Halina Rice is a London-based electronic musician and AV artist renowned for her vivid and eclectic style, using multiple effects and sampling to create original and experimental sounds. Uniting elements of dance, ambient and experimental music, her sound ranges from evocative and melancholic soundscapes to beat-driven tracks. Launching the New Worlds project in 2020, she creates immersive AV environments in which to envelop her listeners, with her sold out live shows being described as “part rave, part art-happening.”

One of the most distinctive audiovisual performers to date, violinist, producer and film-maker Zan Lyons’ stunning shows have received critical acclaim across the globe, combining explosive beats that collide with melancholic concertos. Using his laptop and custom foot pedals, zan loops his violin, voice and sounds – while manipulating his haunting visuals – to incredible effect. Zan Lyons new project exists between music, gaming and cinema. Using a Playstation controller, the mysterious on-screen character and visuals are controlled in real time as the incendiary sound design follows in perfect synchronicity. A new multi sensory concept named by the artist as Interactive Visual Audio.

Beatrix Weapons has become one of the sharpest names on the avant-garde music circuit in Spain. Experimental music producer, thinker and visual artist, her sound universe is immersed in deconstructed IDM and digital frequencies with the intention of building textures through her sets. She has made her mark on reputable international labels such as Infinito Audio, Promesses and most recently on the Berlin based Soul Feeder. A multidisciplinary and disruptive project that seeks a celestial vision through the distortion of darkness, that arrives at L.E.V. Matadero as an audiovisual performance with the collaboration of the 3d artist ruido.frio.

FEMINA is a double screen audio-visual performance in which echoes of polyphonic madrigals are layered on the composition of original electronic music, while samples of Renaissance paintings are transformed into an evolving stream of images. The project, created by Italian visual and multimedia artist, physicist and university professor Riccardo Giovinetto, explores the idea of grace and the eye that defines it during the Renaissance, that of the painters, who accorded it par excellence to the feminine figure. Sound and video are informed by the same conceptual principles and mutually condition each other through the imaginary journey of an AI.

Imagine a folklore made by machines; the wild passion of the most traditional Andalusian rituals riding through a wiring of intravenous loops, amorous coplas of flamenco 2.0 sessions bleeding through the sockets. Rocío Guzmán teams up with Manu Prieto and his “dada machines” to sign SONADA, her unpredictable first self-released album which she will perform live at L.E.V. Matadero. The artist from Jaén digs a sentimental, deep and eternal tunnel: a popular songbook for robots and drones, mixing rumba, electronica, lyrical songs, continuous music, flamenco and sci-fi soundscapes.

Carlos Bravo is an instrumentalist, sound and visual artist, hardware developer and researcher. His project Cýra was born with the aim of materialising Verbose’s trajectory in an experiential format. For this audiovisual performance, the result of the artist’s experimentation with electromagnetic field recordings and pixel mapping technique, he built his own lighting equipment, before and during his time at the Matadero Art Residency Centre. The project moves between surgical precision and the improvised narrative of acoustic and light spaces that communicate with each other.
