METAVERSES: REALITIES IN TRANSITION
Exhibition and more activities at Matadero Madrid
The exhibition Metaverses: Realities in Transition shows until January 29th at Matadero Madrid’s Nave 0 a selection of virtual environments proposed by and for artists, mainly developed during the COVID19 international crisis as an example of new spaces of creation and resilience, and promoted by several international cultural institutions.
Five metaverses and an installation compose a walkthrough which starts with The Subject Changes, a work of generative art focused on a character constantly changing. Then we are invited to explore a virtual village in H.O.R.I.Z.O.N., to walk around a virtual landscape full of digital works of art in Planet L.E.V. Matadero, to listen to several sound artists in AFTERLIFE, and to enjoy club culture in projects such as Tivoli Cloud VR and Club Matryoshka.
Financed by the European Union-NextGenerationEU, through the Public Aid subsidy for the promotion of the video game sector and other forms of digital creation within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Ministry of Culture.

Within the framework of Metaverses: Realities in Transition, we present a series of activities together with Matadero Madrid to continue exploring the infinite creative possibilities of a reality that is increasingly present in our lives.
INTRODUCTION TO PATCHXR
December 10TH / El Aulario, Matadero Madrid
A workshop for artists and musicians of all technical levels to learn the basics of PatchWorld, an unprecedented tool developed by international studio PatchXR, with which we will be able to build totally immersive musical worlds for the metaverse.
NEUROXCAPE HYBRID E-RAVE 666: THE SHADOWBANNER
January 14TH / Nave 0, Matadero Madrid & online
A hybrid e-rave where the virtual and the physical intertwine, organised by the NeuroDungeon collective with the participation of other local and international artists and DJs, in which the audience can interact and be part of the experience through 3D avatars.
In addition, every Thursday and Sunday at 12 noon, there will be GUIDED TOURS to the exhibition adapted for the general public and also for groups, with free prior reservation here.

OPEN CALL FOR XR ARTISTIC PROJECTS

An opportunity for creative projects in the field of extended realities that reimagine and expand the notions of XR while following a critical, reflective line of thought and promoting a common, open, sustainable XR at a European level. Seven projects will be invited to take part in a residency programme at the V2_ Lab in Rotterdam (The Netherlands).
